Registering for producer responsibility in the EU must be easier

The European Commission has put forward a proposal to harmonise the registration requirements across the various EU countries. The aim is to alleviate the administrative burden on producers. However, the European Commission also proposes that producers should report their quantities placed on the market to the WEEE registers four times a year. In Denmark, we report annually. If the proposal is adopted, it will therefore actually result in additional administrative burdens for Danish producers. You can see Elretur’s consultation response here.
