Elretur must not make a profit from our activities. We are a non-profit organisation. Membership currently costs a fixed annual fee of DKK 3,000. In addition, your company pays a variable environmental contribution. The environmental contribution depends on what and how much you sell as a company. The contributions cover the costs of collecting and processing the end-of-life products. To a large extent, the size of the contributions depends on the commodity market. If the commodity market is favourable, it will result in a lower environmental contribution for the coming year and vice versa. The environmental contributions also cover the cost of Elretur’s administration. Portable batteries are also subject to an excise duty from the Danish Customs and Tax Administration (SKAT).
