Board of Directors

Elretur’s highest authority is the board of directors.

The board of directors is elected at Elretur’s annual membership meeting, and consists of seven members.

The founding organisations; APPLiA Denmark, the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and the Danish Chamber of Commerce (DE) – each appoint a member to the board.

The other four board members are elected by the member companies at Elretur’s annual membership meeting. The board of directors consists of a Chairman and a Deputy Chairman.

The team behind Elretur

Elretur’s administration handles the daily operation and development of Elretur. The tasks include servicing the member companies, managing suppliers, and dialogue with municipalities, waste companies and recycling centres.

Member sections

Elretur’s members are organised into sections corresponding to the product categories in the EU WEEE directive.

A company is registered in one or more sections depending on the products it sells.

Section managements are elected for each section during the annual membership meeting. The section management elect their own chairman and represent the section members’ interests in relation to Elretur. The section management also determine the environmental contributions for the section. The contributions are approved by Elretur’s Board of Directors.

Elretur’s individual sections must be financially self-sufficient, and separate accounts are kept for each section. Elretur and the section managements hold regular meetings where the section’s accounts are reviewed, are informed on relevant matters, and provide Elretur’s administration with input on behalf of the section’s members.
